Information technology is a tool which helps people gain access to information and communications platforms that are fast, efficient, and, above all, cost-effective. But, certain restrictions should be made on these
high-tech electronic equipment, which advocate free information technology. Why? Well, this is because unregulated and unrestricted information access would bring about chaos not only to a number of people, but to the whole world. I think this is exactly the stand of China, which has the reputation of controlling its population for the common good of the people themselves. Well, that final thought is based mainly from my own analysis of their political style, practice, and ideologies.
What I mean to say is the stand China took regarding VoIP. Yes, Wang Leilei announced that the Chinese government wouldn't issue any VoIP licensing permits to any
VoIP service provider. The chief executive of a certain VoIP provider called Tom Online stated the negative confirmation of the Chinese government, along with the country's telecoms, in providing licenses to its people of VoIP. VoIP prepaid or postpaid calls coming from computers to telephones would be waiting for more or less two years until it is given a chance again for an appeal.
