With
digital communication technologies providing flexible and cost-effective communication options, how could large telecom corporations cope up without converging each of its services with the services of competing communication systems? VoIP or voice over internet protocol, is exactly a likely example of a revolutionary technological development that would be integrated on an equally cost-effective and wireless means of communications. VoIP would be turning mobile in about a few years time from now.
Mobile voice over internet protocol. As the name redundantly suggests, this would be digital communications without acquiring wireless internet connectivity. Nor would it provide internet service providers an equal share of the market. Plus, neither would it be a Bluetooth technological revolution in terms of equipment production. It would just mean that cellular networks would be adding a little service to their mobile services. Yes, and that would be internet connectivity.
Now, a cellular network providing internet connectivity on mobile devices. Plus, throwing VoIP service in as well. As far as it gets getting scarier and scarier by the minute for non-mobile internet service providers, it just keeps getting better and better for mobile device manufacturers as well as for mobile service providers. In the very near future, perhaps we would be having a handheld PC with converged internet telephony through a VoIP service, plus a conventional means of telephony through a cellular network service. Not to mention internet browsing capabilities, mobile viewing of podcasts, streamcasts, etc., as well as mobile gaming entertainment either online or otherwise. With mobile phones currently offering such features of video and audio entertainment, internet connectivity, streamcasting, podcasting, internet browsing, mobile gaming either online or otherwise, and conventional telephony through cellular networks, what would hinder it to go and provide VoIP service as well? In case you haven't noticed yet, technological equipment for information and communications keeps getting smaller and smaller. So this would mean all it would really take is for a
mobile phone to have powerful processors, equally powerful memory, large data storage capacities, accessories as small as it is, and a good operating system so as to provide humanity with a full-fledged handheld PC. Now this would literally bring the power of information and communications to the palms of our hands!
I'm sure you noticed how digital communication technologies have affected the lifestyles of the people in the modern world. Yes, we have gone from analog to digital, mechanical to electronic, stationary to mobile, tied up to wireless, etc. You name it,
